Tools Menu
Use the Tools Report Actions menu to open the tools, or widgets, you use to build reports, such as the Field & Data Objects and the Grouping widgets. You can also select Tools >> Dock widgets on (Left/Right) to set where widgets are placed when docked.

Use the Report Options widget to define most of a report's details in one place, such as name and description, whether a report is public or private, and the color scheme. Most of these options can also be defined from the Options menu. - Fields & Data Objects Widget
Enter keywords in the Search field to find data objects and fields to add to your report. - Filters Widget
Use filters to customize the results that display on the report. Report Creators can add and manage Static filters, or Prompted filters that require input when run. Report viewers can change values in existing filters and add their own filters when running a report. - Templates Widget
Use the Templates widget to select a Deltek Standard report to use as a template for your report. Click a report to load it in the Report Working Area. Use the Toolbar menu and Column Actions menus to modify the report to meet your needs. - Categories Widget
When you associate a category with a report you add data objects and fields commonly used to build those types of reports. For example, reports used to manage courses or requisitions. - Report Objects Widget
Advanced Reporting Tool users with a strong understanding of MySQL can use the Report Objects widget (Report Working Area >> Tools >> Report Objects) to manage a report's data objects. - Sorting Widget
The Sorting widget lets you add and order how your report columns are sorted. Any column with sorting added either from the widget or by clicking the up or down arrows at the top of a column displays in the widget. You drag and drop sorted columns in the widget to re-order your sorting. - Grouping Widget
The Grouping widget lets you add and order how your report rows are grouped. Any column with grouping added displays in this widget, whether it was grouped from the widget or by clicking the Grouping folder icon at the top of a column. You drag and drop grouped columns in the widget to re-order your grouping. You can also use expressions for more complex groupings. Grouping functionality uses the MySQL GROUP BY statement. - Saved Views Widget
Use Saved Views to store report options and actions, including column sorting, filtering, grouping, active charts, and more to use on other reports. After saving, you can apply a Saved View by opening a report in the Report Working Area and clicking the Saved View icon in the Report Actions Toolbar. When scheduling reports, distribution lists can also use Saved Views. - Charts Widget
Use the Charts widget to add available charts to the report you are viewing, or to create a report using the Chart Builder. Added charts are included on reports when exported to Excel, PDF, or image formats. - Edit History Widget
The Edit History widget lists each individual action taken while editing, up to a maximum of 25. Most recent actions appear at the top of the list. Older actions appear at the botton. Selecting an item returns your report to that point in time, replaying all necessary actions. You can also click the Redo/Undo buttons
to redo or undo the previous action, one click at a time. - Unsaved Reports Widget
Use the Unsaved Reports widget to keep track of reports still in the process of editing. Be sure to save changes before logging out of the Reporting Tool.
